HLES of Essex County is a non-profit organization committed to the empowerment, and support of Hispanic law enforcement officers; as well as the betterment of our communities by employing a numerous amount of community outreach programs and benefits.
THE MISSION
The Hispanic Law Enforcement Society of Essex County is a Non-Profit community organization with a membership comprised of officers from 22 Essex County municipalities.
The H.L.E.S. is committed to serving the communities of Essex County. The H.L.E.S. promotes unity and improving the quality of life of the residents', members and their families.

Toy & Clothing Drives
We organize yearly clothing and toy drives to spread the joy of the holidays to the children of our communities.
Back To School Drives
We pride ourselves in helping disadvantaged kids in our community get the supplies they need to go back to school.
Scholarships
Since 2011 HLES has provided over 150,000.00 in scholarships to high achieving college students.
Softball Tournaments
HLES has hosted numerous softball tournaments to honor the fallen heroes of our Police Departments.
The HLES, currently has 500 members spread across Essex County. Led by President George Torres, our members are highly committed to improving the lives of our residents, through community focused events. We address fighting hunger, education and the prevention of violence.
In 2015 we established our HLES Headquarters located at 840 Mt. Prospect Ave, Newark, NJ 07104. HLES now can provide members with a safe place to come and discuss important issues.
